| This building is the Arkansas Career Training Institute....one of several old buildings in the historic part of town.... Hot Springs reminds us of a mix of Eastbourne, Victoria on Vancouver Island and Singapore.... |

| We hadn't realise before coming to Hot Springs that this was such a huge spa town in it's heyday and in fact still has several updated and working Bathhouses, this being one of them on Bathhouse Row... Thousands used to come here back in the early 1900's to "take the waters" |

| The Fordyce Bathhouse is now a National Parks Visitors Centre and Museum having been preserved in it's 1915 state... It was not like Roman Baths where there is a large "swimming pool" style spa but individual cubicles each with a spa bath...also separate areas for men and women... Very interesting seeing the Bathhouse but also learning about the history of the area....this time it was the French who took the land away from the Native Americans... |

| The water here is 143 degrees....there are several "municipal taps" where anyone can fill for free their water bottles with hot water straight from the ground....we had a chat with a local couple who were doing this and said it perfectly safe and drinkable...we declined this !!! From here at the top of Bathhouse Row we walked back to the parking area via The Promenade again a very Victorian feel... |

A nice walk.....we also saw in this general area 4 cemeteries (there may be more) dating back to the late 1800's.. a very pretty and peaceful place for your final resting ground... Home now to watch the final round of The Masters...as I am posting this the next day, very well done to Jordan Speith for maintaining his lead over the 4 days..a worthy winner... Heavy rain predicted tomorrow....more from Camp Granada, when the sun returns... |
