Camp Harris at Live Oak Landing RV Park....Freeport, FL......

A lovely spot and at last some settled weather and no sign of storms....

The campsite is on The Choctawhatchee Inlet and has various docks and a boat launch area...ideal for fishing....

And to the beach...this is the Santa Rosa Beach on The Emerald Coast and about 20 minutes from our campsite....

The sea really is a pretty emerald colour due the small lime green seaweed....

Santa Rosa and the coast line here is prime real estate....very neat and landscaped, nice gated communities, houses and condos....but no high rise....

We love these dear little birds...they only fly if they have to instead choosing to rush up and down the beach feeding on minute marine life, although one of them did pull up quite a large "worm"

Well what can we say there's no accounting for taste !!

We drove about 10 miles along the coast road....a mix of housing as mentioned above but also several state parks...

The currents and tides here can make swimming dangerous....today, flags for dangerous marine life (jellyfish)  and ankle depth only....as they say in these parts "knee high is too high" 

The highway from the 1-10 down to Freeport & the beaches is undergoing an "upgrade" to a 4 lane highway....construction had started when we were in this area in 2012 and set to finish in the fall of 2016...

It's a huge project with approx a mile of the 35 mile stretch being across the water...

Life is good at the beach.....we now have sun sun sun...and it's hot hot  hot...no complaints , not what we had planned for this trip but we'll go with flow....
