Sunday 3rd May....Defuniak Springs, Florida...

And another beautiful morning in Florida....there are still storms forecast for Tennessee and Kentucky so Plan B is  working well so far....
Today we head north on the 331 to actually go to Walmart (not our preferred supermarket but it has it uses) at Defuniak Springs and one of those little surprises of life, it's a lovely small town with many Antebellum style houses and this pretty lake....perfect spot for our lunch sandwich..
The Chatautauqua Hall of Brotherhood...constructed in the late 1800's as part of the Chautauqua education movement....
And of course my favourite...The Walton County Library, the oldest structure in Florida built as a library and still serving that purpose...
Library colleagues look at these opening hours for a "village" library :)

And my day is made.....the railroad runs, of course, through the middle of the town...
We have enjoyed our week in Freeport and the beautiful beaches on The Emerald Coast....
Yorkieman has cooked an extremely yummy slow cooked "pulled" pork dish, eaten outside while listening to Nina Simone, Leonard Cohen and Billie Holiday...can life get any better...
Tomorrow we move on 150 miles farther along the Gulf Coast to Carrabelle and another week at the beach :)
It's a hard life.....
