Sunday 28th April.....Vicksburg,MS to Freeport, Florida...

We really enjoyed our stay in Vicksburg....sad not to be able to head north on The Natchez Trace Parkway but we need to be sensible and head away from the storms.....
It's a very long days drive today but mainly nice quiet straight roads....the pretty white swathes are not snow or gravel but seed heads of the grasses....

On and on south to the I-10 East at Mobile, Alabama......
Down under the sea and then the 69 miles across this part of Alabama to Florida....we did this journey in reverse in 2012 when we went east-west...
USS Alabama at Battleship Memorial Park, Alabama....can't stop for a visit  as still some miles to go......

Lunch sandwich at the Florida Welcome Centre.....threatening skies but still shorts and t-ees...
As our niece, Kelly, who is in Orlando at the moment, said "The Sunshine State, I don't think so" !!
Yorkieman is certainly ready for a beer on arrival at our home for the next week.... Live Oak Landing RV Resort , Freeport, Florida...
It's an excellent campsite about 20 minutes from Emerald Beach on the Gulf Coast...
First night apparently there was a huge storm and heavy rain, so I'm told !!! (the sleep of the innocent !!) also first evening the wifi works ok but for the next week we are only able to log on at the office/pool area a quarter mile walk (exercise is good though) hence a back log of blog entries...they say it's the new leaf growth on the live oaks that are blocking the wifi signal and the lumberjack can't get here until next Tuesday, strangely the day we leave !!!....our neighbour gave up and went home after a couple of days !!
On the plus side after the storm last night we have beautiful hot and sunny weather, high 80's low 90's F...
More soon from The Sunny Campers.....
