| Foggy first thing here in Hot Springs but clears by the time we are on the road again....mainly interstate today...I-30 to Little Rock then I-40 east to Memphis, Tennessee.... We are crossing the Arkansas river this is a barge not a submarine... |

| After Little Rock the landscape is very flat and agricultural with long straight flat roads but a little excitement when we saw a couple of crop dusters.... As we neared the Tennessee border and the Misssissippi the scenery turned more into swampland and quite flooded from the recent rains....quite a lot of the interstate in this area is elevated........ |

| The I-40 is a big truck route, this was a "jam" but shows the amount of trucks...poor Yorkieman had his work cut out towing our home as not only was the traffic heavy but Billy Boy and Hilary need to invest funds in the road surfaces....after miles and miles of potholes we certainly arrived in Memphis "All Shook Up" !!!! |

| And once again we arrive back in Tennessee....we are staying at the Graceland Heartbreak Hotel and RV Park a good base for visiting Graceland and Downtown Memphis.... |

| Very wet this morning , Friday and sadly a feature of our stay !! but we needed to get our truck serviced so no time wasted.....next stop after the Chevy garage is Stax Recording Studio Museum in Downtown Memphis and a fabulous visit...so many memories of the music that we grew up listening too and still love to this day.... |

| At the beginning of the tour is a a really good informative film then a self guided tour of hundreds of memorabilia, artefacts and video clips...sadly Stax went into bankruptcy in 1974 but the museum has been built on the original site and the memories linger on..... |

| On from here to the Tennessee Visitors Centre on River Drive... The King... We had such a great visit, Miss Jeanette one of the centre's staff was a real character, a wicked sense of humour and gave us so much fabulous info for the area and The Blues Road.... |

| We had time for a walk along the Mississippi River.....the pyramid in the background is The Bass Pro Shop...the largest in the USA...the bridge/monorail goes across to Mud Island a popular family park.... |

| The American Queen, the largest riverboat ever built docks here on her voyages on the Mississippi River....not here today but we do see it a few days later although not able to get a pic..:( More soon from Memphis weather permitting....storms are forecast... |

Quite a jam that you had on the 1-40 still the pot holes will get you acclimatised for when back in UK.
Off to Edinburgh tomorrow 23rd + 24th ( Negotiation skills course!).Happy days.

We sure were pleased that we were going the other way to the jam, having said that we could have taken the potholes much slower !!!
